Like Roots in the Soil is a really great, if short, story game made in four weeks for the Post-Apocalyptic Jam 2017. The only thing you can really control is the camera, but it’s such a clever mechanic that the game feels longer (and more compelling) than it should. Really beautiful procedural town generator. You can roam around and collect glowing red things and there are lots of dogs. Really an experiment but the art is beautiful and the results of the procgen are gorgeous. I wish the buildings rendered further out, however - the pop-in is distracting. Another one from Ambient Mixtape 16. Rotting Crescendo puts you alone on a fishing boat in a rough sea, and lets you puzzle it out. I’ve played this several times, mainly because I love the environment/ambiance, but only this last time realized that it’s “winnable” (although, content warning - it’s not kid-friendly at all).
