Actual, “traditional” walking sims. No goal, no or few machanics, just exploration.

Beautiful, rugged landscapes with some mysterious technology involved. Also included in the Walking Simulator of the Month Club Vol. 1. One of Connor Sherlock’s slower, more contemplative walking simulators.Read more...

This is a really cool concept - in the world of Myst, you are writing a book that describes the features of an island (called an “age” in Myst), and then you can explore it. Nice blending of procedural generation, walking sim, and video game mashup. The source code & Unity project is also available.Read more...

My daughter calls this “Alien Supermarket” and I don’t have the heart to correct her. There’s a lot of fun stuff packed in here, including a pizzeria, a dance party (to Las Ketchup, of course), an alien kiddy pool, a bus service, a cocktail bar, a little stargazing dude, and some shady security guys. See if you can find the developer’s hidden head. Just awesome.Read more...

Walking sim inspired by Forest Lawn Cemetery, made by Connor Sherlock. This is one of his early works but one of my favorites. As you wander around the music changes based on what’s close by, similar to Proteus. Wonderful, meditative game, and one of my first introductions to walking sims. I also discovered you can hop the fence and explore the background city and walk around the buildingsRead more...
